New and Improved Foundation Design
For assistance with foundation design in Surrey, make us your first and only port of call today. Also, if your building is suffering with subsidence or heave problems, we will provide you with a cost effective service from start to finish. Our specialist services includes the sampling and testing of the soil to enable both proof of subsidence and information to use to design the underpinning.
Extension Design in South London and Surrey
We work closely with our clients to design their brief, creating and presenting architectural drawings, negotiating and making planning applications, as well as making the building control application.
Design of Beams
As part of the beam design we consider the effects the loading at the ends of the beam is going to have on the supporting wall as well as on the foundatioins supporting the wall. If there is a risk of settlement, we design a portal frame with bottom beam often known by builders as a "Picture Frame". Such picture frame uses the foundations of a knocked down wall so that there is usually a reduction in soil pressure below the fondations. What this means for you is that we avoid local cracking that can be caused by a considerable increase in local pressure on the soil.
Often a steel grillage is best deployed to sustain the new floor loading, the new roof loading and to deal with the effects of asymetrical roofs. We use a structural steel analysis package to optimise the amount of steel needed, as well as to design lengths (and thus weight) of steel that your builder can cope with. We can include en-suite facilities in the design or several bedrooms.
This are economical in affluent areas where the cost per square metre of existing property is higher than the cost per square metre of the new basement.
These enable you to use a sloping site more efficiently with several flat areas for example, or else provide an alternative vehicular access. We can design these to suit the soil prevailing conditions
